Govt promotes Suman Ray as new Executive Director of RBI

Suman Ray has been promoted as Executive Director (ED) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with effect from September 1, 2026. Before being promoted to executive director (ED), Ray was serving as regional director for Maharashtra. He has experience of over three decades in the Reserve Bank, having worked in several areas, including currency management, financial inclusion, payment and settlement system.
